Horrific Crime: Andhra youth puts acid in minor’s mouth, slit throat for refusing sexual assault
When a minor girl in Andhra Pradesh refused a youth’s attempt to sexually assault her, he poured acid into her mouth and slit her throat.
The startling incident happened on Monday night in a village in the SPSR Nellore district while the class 9 student, 14, was home alone.
The woman fled into the bathroom after the accused broke in and locked herself there, hoping to protect herself. In an attempt to abuse her sexually, the young man broke open the door. He attempted to attack her, but she resisted, so he doused her face and mouth in toilet cleaning acid. She began to scream, and the attacker cut her throat with a knife before fleeing.
The girl’s parents, who had left for work, were notified when the neighbours discovered the girl laying in a pool of blood. The victim was taken to a hospital, where it is said that she is in critical condition.
Nagaraju, the accused, has been taken into custody by police. He is allegedly a relative of the victim. The accused may have received assistance from others, according to the police. Public indignation was aroused by the incident. People demanded that the offender receive the worst punishment possible.
A case had been registered under non-bailable sections. Nellore district Superintendent of Police, Vijaya Rao also visited the hospital. He said the police were investigating and would soon come out with all the details and harsh punishment would be awarded to the involved culprit.
