IMD: Heavy Rain predicted in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh
Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh were expected to see mild to very heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning on Monday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). According to the IMD, between July 25 and July 29, 2022, there is a very good chance of widespread light to moderate rainfall with a few isolated heavy falls over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
IMD tweeted that there was a “very high probability” of isolated, extremely heavy rain in Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh on July 25, 28, and 29.
In light of these forecasts, the weather department has also issued a yellow advisory advising inhabitants to be vigilant of the local meteorological condition over the entire northeastern region.
