India was hit with a sizable fine after its humiliating loss to Bangladesh in the first ODI

India would like to fast forget their first One Day International match against Bangladesh, but the match doesn't seem to be one that can be forgotten. Bangladesh's bowlers were able to bring India to an end for just 186 runs, leaving them all out for just 136. But Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman's incredible last-wicket partnership propelled the hosts to an unforgettable triumph. On Monday, the International Cricket Council announced that Rohit Sharma's team had been penalised 80% of their match money for the slow over rate. The Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees' Ranjan Madugalle determined that India fell four overs short of their objective. 

Players are fined 20% of their match fees for each over that is underpar in accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, according to the ICC's statement on Monday.

Bangladesh batted first, and India was dismissed for just 186 runs in 41.2 overs. India's only survivor was KL Rahul (73 off 70 balls), but star players like skipper Rohit Sharma (27), Shikhar Dhawan (7), and Virat Kohli (9) failed to make an impression.

Nothing went right for the Indian batting, which collapsed as a result of spells by Shakib al Hasan (5/36) and Ebadot Hossain (4/47), with the exception of a 60-run partnership between KL and Washington Sundar for the fifth wicket. 

Bangladesh was dropped to 26/2 in 9.1 overs while chasing 187. Bangladesh regained momentum because to a 48-run partnership between Shakib (29), the captain, and Litton Das (41).
