The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 occurred on Saturday off the northern coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The earthquake’s depth was 40 km (24.85 miles), and it was located about 19 km (11.81 miles) south-southeast of Meulaboh in Indonesia, according to EMSC.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the magnitude 6.2 earthquake on Saturday was located 49 kilometers (30.4 miles) beneath the surface, 40 kilometers (24.8 miles) south-southwest of Meulaboh, a seaside city in Aceh province.
