'Jisne hum par 200 saal raaj kiya' - Anupam Kher says Rishi Sunak's appointment as PM is a matter of pride

Anupam Kher, a renowned actor in the Hindi film industry, had nothing but love for Rishi Sunak, the first prime minister of the United Kingdom of Indian descent. Anupam uploaded several images and a message of praise for Rishi Sunak on social media. After losing the battle for the party's leadership against Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak, a representative of the British Conservative Party, accomplished this achievement in less than two months.

On Wednesday, October 26, Kher posted images to his Twitter account, including those of Sunak's meeting with King Charles III. He wrote the following caption in Hindi, translated as: "Not whether @RishiSunak is a Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, or Christian is the question. The fact that an Indian originally became the Prime Minister of the nation that controlled us for nearly 200 years in the 75th year of our country's freedom should be a source of pride. Every Indian should be proud of this accomplishment! Jai Hind!"
