On Thursday, April 21, in the outskirts of Mangaluru, Juma Masjit in Malali on the partly demolished mosque found a Hindu temple-like architectural design underneath an old the mosque during the renovation work conducted by the mosque authorities. The Vishwa Hindu Parisad leaders have come forward and appealed to the District Administration to stop the work till the documents were verified. People assumed that there is a possibility of Hindu temple.
Meanwhile the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannnada ordered to maintain silence until further orders while it has been investigating into the land records. By saying ” I have received information from field officials and police department about the issue. The District administration is looking into the old land records and entries regarding the ownership details. We will take reports both from the endowment department and the Waqf Board”.
He added ” We will check the validity of the claims and take the appropriate decision very soon. Till then, I have instructed to maintain status quo and requested people not to jump into conclusion. I am requesting people to maintain law and order and peace”.
This discovery went viral within no time, and people came rushing to the spot to witness the existed temple however the police were on the way to maintain the orders and not allow to get into the spot until the investigation on the issue is going on.
