Kolkata-Park Street: 1 Killed, Another Injured as CISF Constable Opens Fire at Museum back side of the Indian Museum

CISF head constable, a resident of Odisha indiscriminately fired 15 rounds of bullets from his service arm around 6:30 p.m, 6 August at the Indian Museum resulting in killing one CISF ASI, and another one was left injured and has been admitted to SSKM Hospital.

According to ANI reports, the accused CISF constable who opened fire from his AK 47 in the Indian Museum of CISF Barrack situated at Park Street nabbed by the Kolkata police. While one CISF ASI had died in this firing, another was injured.

The shooter Akshay Kumar Mishra surrendered himself to Kolkata police after he fired ASI Ranjit Kumar Sarengi and a head constable with his AK 47 (service weapon) at Indian Museum, Kolkata today evening.

Police could not trace the shooter until 8:30 pm according to Lalbazar police officials. The accused CISF has taken over the security of the museum in December 2019.
