According to the latest polls, Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Congress state chairman of Punjab, was defeated by AAP’s Jeevan Jyot Kaur in the Amritsar East constituency by a margin of over 5,000 votes.
In the Punjab assembly elections, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi losing both of his seats to AAP candidates. Channi was defeated by Labh Singh Ugoke by almost 34,000 votes in the Bhadaur seat. Channi was defeated by AAP candidate Charanjit Singh in Chamkaur Sahib by a margin of nearly 5,500 votes.
Sukhbir Singh Badal of the Shiromani Akali Dal loses his seat of Jalalabad to Jagdeep Kamboj of the Aam Aadmi Party by approximately 16,000 votes.
As his first priority in office, Punjab Chief Minister-elect Bhagwant Mann has promised to reduce unemployment in the province. After the Aam Aadmi Party won Punjab election results in 2022, Bhagwant Mann declared that no government office in the state will have the photo of the Punjab Chief Minister, but will instead have an image of DR Ambedkar, making a huge outreach to Dalit voters.
