Rohini posted a photo of herself from her hospital bed on Twitter just before the transplant procedure.

Rohini Acharya, daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav, is prepared to give her sick father a kidney today. With the caption "Ready to rock and roll, wish me luck," Rohini posted a photo of herself from her hospital bed on Twitter just before the transplant procedure.

The RJD chief has long experienced a number of health problems, and most recently, the medical professionals caring for him had suggested a kidney transplant. The 74-year-old, who is praised as a socialist leader by his followers, has spent time in the hospital while incarcerated for corruption convictions. After being granted bail by the Jharkhand high court in April, he was free on bail in the five instances involving the fodder fraud. He was given permission by the court in October to undergo a kidney transplant overseas, and his passport was released from court custody so that it could be renewed.
