Lucknow: Pet Pit Bull Attacks And Kills An 82-year-old Woman

On Wednesday, police said an 82-year-old woman was mauled to death by her pet dog at her home in the Qaiserbagh area.

A retired teacher, Sushila Tripathi, was attacked by her pet Pit Bull on the roof of her house in the morning.

The elderly woman ventured out for a walk with her dog on Tuesday when her son Amit was away at work as a gym trainer.

What transpired inside the house is still unknown, but Amit was informed by neighbours that they heard the dogs barking and his mother’s cries.

According to investigators, the domestic help discovered her lying in a pool of blood and alerted her son about it. Despite the fact that the woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where physicians pronounced her dead, her body was submitted for a post-mortem examination. According to reports, the victim resided with her younger son, and the family had two pets, including the Pit Bull that attacked her.

Yogesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police in Qaiserbagh, stated, “Sushila Tripathi, 82, of the Bengali Tola neighbourhood, was assaulted by her pet dog. Her body was retrieved and sent for a post-mortem examination. We are communicating with Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) officials over the matter.”

Abhinav Verma, a Veterinary Officer at LMC, on the other hand, stated “Our team went to the home to see if the family had a permit to have a Pit Bull as a pet. However, because the house was locked, it was impossible to determine.”

The officials stated that they had no clue about the dog’s whereabouts and were attempting to contact the son.
