Meghalayan boys have once again made the state proud and raised the country’s image. These young men excelled as they made everyone proud of them. Pynnehbor Mylliemngap and Blaseibok Kharbuli, both from Meghalaya, brought honor to the state and country by earning bronze medals at the IFMA Senior Muay-Thai Championship 2022 in Abu Dhabi from May 26 to June 4.
Surprisingly, both athletes are from Smit village in the East Khasi Hills area, which is located in Nongkrem. Pynnehbor Mylliemngap (Senior Male Elite – 48 kg) and Blaseibok Kharbuli (Under 23 Male – 48 kg) were victorious in their respective categories.
The Indian Muay Thai Team included Mylliemngap and Kharbuli. Aside from the couple, another competitor, S Khemborlang Marwein, competed in the event and placed fifth in the U-23 Male -51 kg category.
This time around, India has 19 competitors compete in the IFMA Senior Muay Thai World Championship. Pynsuklang Sumer and Angelus Sun, two officials, accompanied the state players.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya’s Chief Minister congratulated the boys and expressed his delight that the state’s youth are rising to the challenge and excelling in a variety of fields, not only nationally but around the world.
Recently in Hyderabad, Alan Sun Marbaniang from Meghalaya police department won the silver medal in the National Arm Wrestling Championship. He will represent the country at the World Arm Wrestling Championships in Turkey. this year.
