Police in Delhi claimed Thursday to have resolved an accident involving a speeding car that killed two children sleeping on a sidewalk and injured eight others in South east Delhi’s under Lodhi road flyover a week ago. Sahil Narang, 27, a resident of Nirman Vihar, Delhi, was arrested by the police for killing.
When questioned, Sahil revealed that he and his uncle were on their way from the airport. Having just purchased the vehicle, he was testing its speed and handling. During the early morning hours of June, 10, under Lodhi road flyover, there was a very dangerous road accident.
An unidentified black luxury automobile allegedly collided with a Wagon R. The accident was so powerful that the Wagon R automobile toppled over people sleeping on the pavement beneath the Lodhi road flyover. “The investigation of the case was difficult because the incident occurred during the dark hours of the night and no one except the injured victims witnessed the incident,” said Esha Pandey, DCP, South East.
“After that, the team looked at about 50-60CCTV cameras in Nizamuddin East, Nizamuddin West, and Jangpura B.” After examining footage from cameras situated on the road in Maharani Bagh, New Friends Colony, the CSIR building, and on the ring road, the automobile was eventually identified as a BMW,” the DCP stated.
