Meghalaya: Preciostar sworn in as the new president of Kiang Nangbah Govt College WJH
Since its founding in 1967, the Kiang Nangbah Govt College in West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, has grown to be one of the most esteemed institution of higher learning in West Jaintia Hills.
A new President for the Students Union was chosen at the college’s annual election on September 1st, 2022. A total of 59% of voters (students) cast ballots for the candidates they support.
The Kiang Nangbah Government College has given students numerous chances to develop and realise their life’s ambitions.
However, it appears that the college lacks the necessary infrastructure to guarantee that students benefit to the fullest from what the institution has to offer.
Speaking with a candidate, Shemphangmiki Shylla, he expressed worries regarding the remuneration of the morning staff lecturers, claiming that it appears they are currently only paid 5000 per month.
Additionally, he made note of the college’s lack of transportation for students and medical facilities.
After such a hectic day, students were finally able to celebrate Preciostar Sten’s election as their new president. Sten received a total of 1024 votes to win the election.
To aid in the growth of the students and the college, the newly elected President is determined to implement a few reforms.
He has emphasised that it will be given top priority to ensure that the Morning Staff’s compensation is enhanced as is due.
Despite security personnel being present, the election was a peaceful one.
