Meghalaya's Ajima Sangma selected for India C's Women's Challenger Tournament

Ajima Sangma from Meghalaya has been chosen for India C in the Women's Challenger Tournament, a BCCI mixed tournament, marking yet another considerable improvement for Meghalaya cricket. The tall fast bowler, who successfully advanced through the ranks in district-level and age-group competitions, has frequently played for the senior Meghalaya women's squad.

Her selection for the Indian Team C is a significant accomplishment in and of itself, serving as motivation for others. It will undoubtedly make our other girls work harder to up their game. According to Meghalaya Cricket Association Honorary Secretary Gideon Kharkongor, this is a significant milestone for women's cricket in the state.

Ajima was born on January 2nd, 1997 in Kongbe Ading, Tura, West Garo Hills. She attended St. Xavier's School before finishing her secondary school at Tura's Auxillium Secondary School.

She received her HSSLC from the Don Bosco High School in Tura and graduated from the same college.
After successfully advancing through the ranks in district-level and age-group events, the tall fast bowler has been a regular member of the senior Meghalaya women's squad.

The MCA has sent Ajima its best wishes and believes that this competition could be the first step in her ascension to the Indian women's national team. Additionally, it was revealed that Saranya RS will serve as one of Team C's officials. The women's squad from Meghalaya has been coached by Saranya for a number of seasons.

Conrad Sangma, the chief minister, congratulated Ajima in a message "Meghalaya's Ajima Sangma has been chosen for the Women's Challenger Indian Team C. As she battles for a berth on the Indian Women's Cricket Team in the Challenger Trophy, we are proud of her and wish her luck ".
