On Saturday, the state Department of Information and Public Relations recorded 173 new Covid cases in Mizoram in the previous 24 hours.
There are 1,569 cases currently active. A total of 535 deaths have been reported.
In comparison to other north-eastern states, Mizoram’s Covid incidences were usually high.
The positivity rate in the northeastern state is 9.37 percent, according to the state government.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced on Saturday that India has registered 7,189 new Covid-19 cases in the previous 24 hours. The number of Omicron variant cases has already surpassed 415.
Maharashtra takes the lead with 108 Omicron infections, followed by Delhi with 79. There are 38 cases in Telangana, and 43 in Gujarat. With 37 cases, Kerala leads the way, followed by Tamil Nadu with 34. In the northeast, no cases of Omicron have been found.
