According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, around 3,000 Indian students are being kept hostage in Ukraine. Chinese students are also being held as hostages, according to him. “Ukraine is attempting to postpone the evacuation of foreigners, putting them in jeopardy,” Putin stated.
“Hundreds of foreigners want to flee the conflict zone, but they are not permitted to do so.” Basically, they’re abducting people and delaying their release… “Basically, they are throwing them under gunfire,” Putin said, adding, “Our military has opened safe passage, green corridors to allow them to leave safely and as they are giving them transport so that civilians, foreign citizens get an opportunity to move to safer zones and once again… are not allowing this to happen.”
Officials in New Delhi, on the other hand, see it as a challenging situation in a battle zone, where inhabitants have been hunkered down in bunkers and underground shelters, and movement has been restricted owing to a curfew-like condition on the streets.
