As of right now, 10 people have died and 13 others have been injured as a result of the fire that started at the New Life Multi Specialist Hospital in Jabalpur. An official reported that on Monday there was a fire at a private hospital in Jabalpur. Dr. Ilayaraja T, the Jabalpur Collector, stated that a rescue effort was underway at the hospital to evacuate patients.
It was not immediately clear, though, if any of the deceased were patients. Superintendent of Police (SP) Siddharth Bahuguna told PTI that the fire started at New Life Multi-speciality Hospital in the Jabalpur neighbourhood of Gohalpur in the afternoon, close to Damoh Naka. He claimed that on the surface, it looks that a short circuit started the fire.
