The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) opens the 18th university campus in Daman
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has expanded their reach with the 18th campus across the country. The new campus is built in Daman. The fashion institute has organized its first Orientation Batch on 22nd August 2022 for the students of B.Des-Textile Design and Master of Fashion Management, in the new campus.
The vision of setting up the campus was acknowledged and fully supported by the UT administration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu under the leadership of Union Minister of Textiles Piyush Goyal and UT Administrator Praful Patel.
Director General-NIFT Shantmanu addressed on the occasion the need to remain connected to the roots and create new significant associations as the students progress in their academic life.
Thanking Union Minister of Textiles Piyush Goyal, Hon. Administrator Praful Patel and Union Textiles Secretary U.P. Singh for their support and guidance in setting up NIFT at Daman; Shantmanu describesl the progress made by NIFT in the field of fashion education. He also went on to congratulated the students and their families for becoming part of the NIFT.
The institute will provide leverage to the existing industrial hub in Daman by upskilling talents and creating a human assets that can thoroughly navigate the challenges and problems of an interconnected planet with diverse global communities while addressing the gaps in the trained manpower requirement of the local industry.
NIFT is an autonomous fashion institute with its head quartered at New Delhi. NIFT had 17 campuses, now 18, all over India across diffrent states and UTs. The campuses are at New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Patna, Raebareli, Shillong, Srinagar, Panchkula and Daman now.
