Imran Khan, a former Pakistani prime minister, cautioned that his nation is not far from a situation akin to that in Sri Lanka and that soon, people will take to the streets to protest the mafias’ looting and plunder.
The PTI chairman tweeted his opinions and fears, saying: “I can declare with certainty that the people of Pakistan had enough and would not allow these mafias to continue their pillage and plunder following my engagement with our nation and their response to my call for Haqeeqi Azadi.
“The day at which our populace rushes into the streets like in Sri Lanka is quickly approaching. How long will state institutions allow this when the Zardari-Sharif gang has dragged Pakistan to its knees politically and economically in the past three months, merely to protect their unlawfully amassed money that they have gathered over 30 years of plundering Pakistan?
Khan rejected the law and said the “thieves” should not be permitted to sell the assets, according to Dawn, a day after the federal cabinet adopted an ordinance relating to the sale of national assets in an effort to end the economic crisis the country was experiencing.
The former prime minister said on his Twitter account, “How can imported government trusted with sale of national assets and that too by circumventing all procedural and legal procedures, lead by crime minister’, whose family together with Zardari had volumes written on their corruption.
