Para-shooting Worlds: Singhraj secures quota spot in 10m air pistol SH1 for Paris 2024

Singhraj, a double-medallist at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, missed out on a medal in the individual part of P1-Men's 10m Air Pistol SH1, but he still managed to secure India a quota berth at the Shooting Para Sport World Championships in Paris 2024. However, he and Paralympic Games gold medalist Manish Narwal, as well as colleague Nihal Singh, won the gold medal in the team section of the event, with all three making it to the final of the individual event on Wednesday.

The gold medal in the team competition in the P1-10m pistol event is India's second in this World Championship, following the yellow medal in the P3-Mixed 25m Pistol SH1. Singhraj finished fourth in the final on Wednesday after finishing fifth in the qualifying stage with 565 points, behind South Korea's Jo Jeongdu, Poland's Szymon Sowinski, and Uzbekistan's Server Ibragimov.

Singaraja had previously survived an elimination round against teammate Manish Narwal, with whom he had competed for gold at the Tokyo Paralympic Games. The Indian team totaled 1704-34x, led by Paralympic champion Narwal's 575-17x score, which put him in second place in the finals standings.
