PM Modi Pays Floral Tribute To Formal PM Atal Bihar Vajpayee On His 4th Death Anniversary

One of the most iconic leaders of India, a statesman, poet, philosopher, and orator. Fondly remembering Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his death anniversary.

Today is 4th death anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji. On 11 June 2018, Vajpayee was admitted to AIIMS in critical condition following a kidney infection. He was officially declared dead there at 5:05 pm IST on 16 August 2018 at the age of 93. Some sources claim that he had died on the previous day.

On the morning of 17 August, Vajpayee’s body, wrapped with the Indian flag and was taken to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters where party workers paid their tributes until 1 pm. Later that afternoon at 4 pm, Vajpayee was cremated with full state honors at Rashtriya Smriti Sthal near Raj Ghat, and his pyre was lit by his foster daughter Namita Kaul Bhattacharya.

Vajpayee was the first Non-Congress PM to complete a 5-year term. He served 3 terms as PM of India and was elected 10 times to the Lok Sabha. He was the first person to deliver a speech in Hindi at UNGA.

PM Narendra Modi pays floral tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the 4th death anniversary and said Vajpayee “made pioneering efforts to transform India and prepare our nation for the challenges of the 21st century”.
