The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) called its leaders on Thursday to endorse student unions’ request for a Bihar Bandh on Friday, January 28 in protest of alleged irregularities in the Railway Recruitment Board’s Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB-NTPC) exam 2021.
Several student groups, including the All India Students Association (AISA), have called for a state-wide bandh on Friday in protest of alleged irregularities in the examination process.
Several students stated that there were inconsistencies in the RRB recruitment procedure, which sparked protests across the state. Thousands of students across the state were enraged by the government’s plan to hold two computer-based examinations (CBT) for the RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC).
On January 14, the CBT-I results for Group-D jobs were issued, shortlisting individuals for CBT-II. The protesters stated that this recruiting criterion was made clear in the initial RRB announcement soliciting applications.
