Punjab AAP MLAs offered Rs 25cr each by BJP to topple Mann government; Alleges Minister
On Tuesday, Punjab’s finance minister, Harpal Singh Cheema, made a stunning accusation, claiming that the BJP’s “Operation Lotus” is paying AAP legislators between 20 and 25 crore rupees each in an effort to unseat the state’s Bhagwant Mann administration. According to news agency PTI, the BJP dismissed the accusations as “baseless” and a “bundle of lies,” asserting that the AAP was attempting to distract people from its “failures.”
According to Cheema, the BJP has made contact with a number of AAP members in the state and has made financial and cabinet job offers to seven to ten AAP MLAs.
Cheema was reported by PTI as stating, “Our MLAs in Punjab are being approached. They are being reached telephonically by some BJP members who were sent by the BJP’s central leadership to break our legislators away from the party.”
“They approached our MLAs and promised them that their meeting will be arranged with ‘vadde baau ji’ and with important leaders in Delhi, and they even offered them 25 crore each,” he continued.
