Internet users have been moved by the touching tale of a son who was commissioned into the military from the same academy where his mother received her degree 27 years prior. The Defence Public Relations Office Chennai shared a photo of Major Smita Chaturvedi (Retd) standing next to her freshly enlisted son and commented that it was a “rare happy moment for a Lady Officer.”
Major Smita Chaturvedi (Retd), who received her commision in 1995 at the age of 27 from the Officers Training Academy in Chennai, described the occasion as “a rare joyful moment for a Lady Officer. “Defense PRO Chennai tweeted: @artrac ia @SpokespersonMoD @DefenceMinIndia.
When she thought back on her days as a cadet, Chaturvedi thought that the scenario at the academy was better than it had been. “Everything has been altered. There are several new structures that did not previously exist. Where the students reside is where the cadets live, she said.
She was grateful for the Academy’s thorough teaching of the children. New challenges, of course. They can be handled by the younger generation. They are all much ahead of us, and Officers Training Academy (OTA) did such an amazing job of turning them into policemen,” she stated.
At Chennai’s Officers Training Academy, a total of 125 Gentlemen and 41 Lady Cadets were commissioned into the Indian Army. 30 international cadets also finished their training, according to the Ministry.
