Shillong Violence: Another attack on non-tribal, petrol bomb thrown in Mawbah by miscreants

Even though tension that flared out last November 22 seems to have subsided during the past two days in Shillong. An attack with a petrol bomb at the Mawbah neighborhood in West Shillong at around 8 o'clock on Monday shattered two days of largely peaceful conditions in the capital city.
The miscreants are once again aiming after non-tribal people as the assault was documented on camera. CCTV footage showed that two young people entered the area and threw a petrol bomb at Paritosh Das' home in Bengali Para, Mawbah. The bomb, however, struck a tree on the property and started a fire, which the locals and neighbors put out. The house wasn't harmed in any way.
Police arrived at the event and started their initial investigations.

Ernest Mawrie, the state president of the BJP, also arrived to the scene and questioned Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui's silence on the violence that had broken out in the city. He urged the state government to either handle the situation or request the Army's deployment in a letter to the Home Ministry.
