Sourav Ganguly chooses his preferred India opening partner: "Sachin Tendulkar was most sensible one, Virender Sehwag was nuts."
The former India captain reflected on his glory days as a player, when he teamed up with Sehwag and Tendulkar.

During his tenure, Ganguly was one of Team India's most effective leaders, facing obstacles head-on. Alongside Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, two legendary players, he also began the innings. In the historic 2001 Test match at Eden Gardens, Ganguly's India team defeated Steve Waugh's illustrious Australia squad. Under his leadership, Team India defeated the hosts England at Lord's to win the illustrious NatWest Series final. The left-handed batsman has played an important role in a number of other notable victories for India on foreign soil.
At the CREDAI annual conference, the former India captain reminisced about his playing days with Sehwag and Tendulkar. When asked who he preferred to open innings with, Ganguly had to choose between Tendulkar and Sehwag.
Sachin was the most rational person, whereas Sehwag was crazy. So Sachin it is. He genuinely helped me improve as a player as well. Actually, Sachin made me step up my game," said Ganguly.
The following query was directed at Ganguly and asked who among live people he most admired. Once more mentioning Tendulkar, the former captain of India related an amusing anecdote: "Sachin. He was special and I have seen him up close. I have seen him hit in the rib cage. Did not make a noise. Got runs. The next morning he had a double fracture in ribs."
