A group of schoolchildren allegedly beat up their teachers in Jharkhand’s Dumka district by tying them to a tree and accusing them of handing the students bad grades, which caused the students to fail their examinations.

Police reported on Tuesday that pupils at a residential school in the Dumka region of Jharkhand allegedly beat a math teacher and a clerk after tying them to a tree for allegedly providing subpar results on a Class 9 practical test.

The event happened on Monday at a Scheduled Tribe Residential School under government control in the vicinity of the Gopikandar police station.

According to the police, 11 out of the school’s 32 students received Grade “DD” (Double D), which is tantamount to failing, in the class 9 examination, which was announced by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Saturday.
