In a tragic phenomenon, Neha, an eight-month-old baby girl, was died on Monday after suffering burn injuries when the battery of a mobile phone that was being charged next to her exploded on Sunday night in the Bareilly region of Uttar Pradesh. The deceased’s parents, Kusum Kashyap and Sunil Kumar Kashyap, informed reporters that although the phone was bought about six months ago, its battery had been inflated for a few weeks. The smartphone, according to them, was plugged into a switch that was linked to a solar panel.
Father of the child Sunil Kumar, a labourer, claimed they had brought solar panels for illumination and phone charging. When Sunil Kumar discussed it, he said, “My wife gave our daughter a bath and put her on the cot where the phone was lying. I asked her to put some clothes on the baby and shift her to another cot, but she said that she would do it in a while.” After Sunil left the house, Kusum also forgot about the phone that was plugged in for charging. Hearing the infant’s noises and screams, they hastened back to the house.
When that happened, the infant was badly hurt and the cot was on fire. The infant girl was promptly brought to the hospital, where the medical staff made every effort to preserve her life. The parents haven’t brought any complaints against anyone yet. Additionally, they did not send the body for a post-mortem. They did, however, assert that the cellphone company should be subject to punishment.
