‘The biggest drama in Pakistan history’; Maryam Nawaz vents her anger at Imran Khan

The daughter of former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, criticised Imran Khan on Monday for disparaging a US diplomat in his rallies and blaming “foreign influences.” She referred to the charges of a foreign conspiracy made by the leader of the PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf), which were connected to the overthrow of the politician-government, cricketer’s as “the largest drama in Pakistani history.”

“A person who is the biggest liar, chaos-maker, and imposter has unfortunately entered Pakistani politics. He used to tell folks that we are slaves in the US. His conspiracy theories kept people occupied. In Pakistan’s history, this is the largest drama “The Tribune, a local newspaper, reported what she said. Imran Khan, the deposed prime minister, “has been disparaging US diplomat Donald Lu in his talks,” Maryam continued. But two days ago, an official from Khan’s party “went to Lu and apologised” for the PTI chief’s statements, she added.

According to local media outlets, Maryam Nawaz said that Punjab was like an orphan during the PTI’s tenure. However, now that the lion is back, Punjab will prosper as it once did. In addition, she lashes out at the ousted premier for using a “religion card” and stating that people were injured because of his irresponsible behavior.

Re-election for Punjab’s Chief Minister will be held on July 22. PML-N’s Hamza Sharif will continue as chief minister until then. There will also be a by-election on July 17 to fill the 20 vacancies in the Punjab Assembly.
