People who are born male and live as males cannot get pregnant. A transgender man or nonbinary person may be able to, however. It is only possible for a person to be pregnant if they have a uterus. The uterus is the womb, which is where the fetus develops. Among all, there was one creature that males can give birth is the seahorse.
Seahorses and their close relatives, sea dragons, are the male who gets pregnant and gives birth. Male seahorses and sea dragons get pregnant and bear young a unique adaptation in the animal kingdom. Seahorses are members of the pipefish family. The only male creature that has the ability to bore offspring is a seahorse.
After completing an elaborate courtship dance that may go on for hours or days, the female seahorse transfers her mature eggs into the male’s brood pouch, where they are fertilized. At the end of a gestation period usually lasting from two to four weeks depending on the species, the pregnant male’s abdominal area begins to insulate rhythmically, and strong muscular contractions eject from a few dozen to as many as 2,000 fully formed baby seahorses into the surrounding water. After that, the offspring must fend for themselves. Large litters are necessary because only about 0.5 per cent will survive to adulthood.
