The makers of Hindi cinema are gearing up for a year full of blockbusters this year. From the usual masala movies to a dash of romance, horror, comedy, and action films — be assured that 2022 will be packed with entertainers. 2021 has been a great year for Hindi cinema where movies like Thalaivii, 83, Bell Bottom, etc. have hit the box office with their success. Bollywood has since raised our expectations. Every one of us is eyeing 2022 hoping it will be a year of progress where we will get to see movies of different genres. So here we bring you a list of movies that we certainly can’t afford to miss this year.
- Bachchhan Paandey
Releasing on the 18th of March 2022 this much-awaited movie stars Akshay Kumar as the male lead actor alongside Bollywood actresses Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez who will be seen in female lead roles. Abhimanyu Singh is playing the hardcore villain in this action-packed film. This action thriller will also star the very talented and skillful stars including Arshad Warsi and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles. Prateik Babbar, Snehal Dhabi, and Saharsh Kumar Shukla will also be seen in supporting roles. 2. Attack:
Actor John Abraham is in the lead role in Attack alongside Jacqueline Fernandez, Rakul Preet, and Amrit Pal Singh. After his several other movies like Satyamev Jayate John will once again be seen playing a savior of the nation in this film. It is a fictional story but it is inspired by true events and set against the backdrop of a hostage crisis situation. John is also co-producing the film with Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios and Ajay Kapoor. The film story is based on a hostage crisis situation. Lakshya Raj Ananda debutant wrote and directed the film. The story of the Attack is based on the Hindus of the Kashmir Valley, a large majority of Kashmiri Pandits, who were forced to leave Kashmir because of terrorism. 3. Runway 34:
Ajay Devgn Starrer, Runway 34 is a Bollywood thriller that is surely going to blow your mind. This much-anticipated film is ready to take you on a ride full of terrific highs and alarming lows this summer. The film is slated to be released on April 29, 2022. The film stars Big-B Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Angira Dhar, and Aakanksha Singh in important roles.
Apart from that, one of the popular Youtubers Ajey Nagar, popularly known as CarryMinati, who has more than 3 crore subscribers on Youtube, will also be seen in the movie.

4. Jersey:
Shahid Kapoor will soon be seen in a sports drama movie called ‘Jersey’, which is all set to release this year. It is a remake of a Telugu language sports film of the same name starring Nani. The storyline of the film is about a man in his mid30’s struggling to get an opportunity to play for the Indian Cricket Team.
The story of the film revolves around Shahid Kapoor as Arjun in the movie, who is a brilliant cricketer but quits playing cricket due to the politics in Ranji Cricket. He falls in love with a girl during Ranji days and gets the govt. job in reward for playing brilliant cricket at the tournament, but loses it after falsely getting accused of bribery. Further his son asks him for an Indian Cricket team jersey, the movie takes the twist & tweak after it.

5. Bhool bhulaiyaa 2:
Kartik Aryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa is ready to entertain you with a bag full of comedy and horror. This Hindi comedy Horror Film is all set to blow your mind a bag full of entertainment and take you to the bumpy ride in theaters. It is a sequel of Akshay Kumar starrer iconic horror comedy-drama Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which was a remake of the 1993 Malayalam horror film Manichitrathazhu. Now the sequel of this movie is ready to hit the big screens. Since Kartik Aaryan will reprise the role of Akshay Kumar, he will have to match the level of Akshay Kumar while showing his acting skills and we are very sure the film will be quite exciting to watch. Along with Kartik actresses, Kaira Advani and Tabu will be seen playing the female lead roles. Apart from the lead actors, Rajpal Yadav, Amar Upadhyay, Sanjay Mishra, Milind Gunaji, and Rajesh Sharma will also be seen in supporting roles. The movie is scheduled to be released on May 20, 2022.
6. Dhaakad:
Directed by Razneesh Ghai, ‘Dhaakad’ is a story of a ferocious and strong international spy, who lands on an action-filled adventure with flaming guns. The movie stars Kangana in a full-on action-packed role. The movie is written by Chintan Gandhi and Rinish Ravindra, it is an action-thriller, jointly produced by Sohel Maklai Productions and Asylum Films and co-produced by Qyuki Digital Media. This is screenwriter Ritesh Shah’s first alliance with Kangana Ranaut.
An interesting fact about Dhaakad is that Kangana had undergone 3 months of extensive training for the role of spy officer Agent Agni. She will be seen in an avatar that was never seen before. Though earlier she has been a part of action movies like Krish 3, Rangoon, and Manikarnika- The Queen of Jhansi, ‘Dhaakad’ is a step ahead of them. The movie also features Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta.
During the shooting days, Kangana Ranaut talked too much about her role as an action actress, she promised that this action-adventure will be a benchmark in Bollywood, claimed to be the first action female star in the Industry. The movie is scheduled to be released on 27 May 2022.
7. Govinda Naam Mera:
Directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan, Govinda Naam Mera is an upcoming Hindi film, holding the banner of Viacom18 Studios.The film was first named Mr. Lele but was soon renamed, Govinda Naam Mera. The film features the Uri actor Vicky Kaushal in the lead role of Govinda Waghmare, with Bhumi Pednekar playing the role of Vicky’s wife and Kiara Advani in the role of Vicky’s girlfriend.
The film seems to be in similar lines with the typical Pati, Patni, Aur Woh story, where Bhumi Pednekar is the wife and Kiara Advani is the girlfriend, and we see Vicky juggling between the two and how he ends up in a dilemma.The film seems to be full of fun, confusion, and lots of chaos, as tweeted by Karan Johar, where he introduced the character of Vicky Kaushal as Govinda Waghmare and described the character with a heart of gold. The movie is slated for release on June 10, 2022.
8. Lal singh chaddha:
Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan is soon going to be seen in his much-hyped comedy-drama Laal Singh Chaddha, helmed by Secret Superstar (2017) director Advait Chandan. It is a remake of the 1994 American comedy-drama Forrest Grump.
The movie features Aamir Khan in the main lead as Laal Singh Chaddha, Kareena will be doing his girlfriend’s role as Manila Chaddha, South Superstar Naga Chaitanya will be debuting in his first Hindi cinema project through this film playing Bubba, Mona Singh is Laal’s (Aamir) mother as Laaliji. Many Bollywood biggies are doing the cameo appearance like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Karishma Kapoor & Kajol.
Reportedly Laal Singh Chaddha tells the chronicles of India’s past through the main lead perspective, if rumors are to be believed then it will tell the story of 1968 India to 2018, and there are a lot of significant events that have occurred in India during this period will also going to be featured like 83′ world cup, emergency, Ayodhya Rath Yatra, Bhindrawale episode, ’92 Harshad Mehta Scam, Kargil War 1999, etc. By the looks of the story, this movie has the potential to gross big at the box office and of course, you cannot afford to miss this movie by any chance. 9. Brahmastra:
The Superhero film Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor as the main lead has been the most anticipated Bollywood movie so far, Brahmastra is said to be converted into a franchise, it will consist of three parts, the first part will hit the theatres on 9 Sept 2022 in 5 Indian Languages Hindi along with its dubbed versions Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
The film has many big names from Bollywood and Tollywood, Bollywood’s Big-B or Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Dimple Kapadia, and famous south Indian actor Nagarjuna Akkineni will be seen featuring in the movie. 10. Pathan:
It has been three years since the Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan appeared on the big screens, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of the year 2022 which is currently in the production stage. The movie has not yet been officially announced but the hype around it is not just impressive but also frequently growing.
The film is about a fierce confrontation between a RAW agent, who stands for his nation, and a freelance terrorist, to counter a wide dangerous threat – this movie is believed to be the biggest spy thriller of Indian Cinema. Directed and written by Siddharth Anand, the film stars Shahrukh Khan as the lead actor alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
