On Saturday, BJP national president JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah opened the party’s new state office in Guwahati. The Assam Chief Minister was seen washing the feet of party elders during the event as a sign of respect. He also washed the feet of 75 senior BJP officials who joined the saffron party before to 1990, according to sources.
The one lakh square foot, six-story structure will offer cutting edge amenities, including a guest house and a contemporary media centre. Five thousand individuals can be accommodated inside. Party employees donated money for the construction of the new building, which has a worth of Rs 25 crore.
