The white moose is predominantly found in Sweden, however, some of them have also been spotted in Canada and Alaska in the US. Some areas of the USA and Canada protect these rare moose from harvest but Vermont apparently is not one of them.
They thrive in an extremely specific temperature range, which reflects their particular choices in their natural habitat. Specifically, moose dislike anything above 50 degrees Fahrenheit and will begin overheating around 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
Moose have a built-in solution that keeps them warm, a super-insulated “jacket” made of fur. Long, hollow hairs and a dense, soft undercoat keep moose warm and cozy in temperatures that would make the rest of us shiver. Hollow hairs help moose retain heat because they add an extra layer of trapped air, just like a puffy jacket.

Nilsson describes himself as a “nature lover.” He told Sweden’s Sveriges Radio the experience was “as great as seeing a leopard in Africa.” Nilsson along with multiple sources said white moose are rare. He told local reporters there were only 50 white moose in western Varmland, where the video was captured.
