According to authorities, a 30-year-old mother who was travelling home with her nine-year-old son on Thursday night in Haryana’s Fatehabad was killed after allegedly being thrown out of a speeding train for defending herself against a drug addict who tried to sexually assault her.
The woman’s husband, who was waiting for them at the Tohana train station, reported that his son was distraught when he described to him how his mother had been forced from the train some two kilometres distant. “My wife contacted me when she was 20 kilometres away and asked me to come to the station and pick them up.” He stated that his wife and their son were on their way back from her parents’ house.
The woman’s body was discovered Friday morning close to the Tohana station, according to Railway Police Sub-Inspector Jagdish Singh. At Jind’s Narwana station, the suspects boarded the train. He attempted to assault her after seeing her. She attempted to defend herself.
He identified the suspect as Sandeep Kumar, a local of Kalwan in Jind’s Narwana. He “pushed the woman out of the train and leapt out himself.”
