According to sources cited by Sputnik, the Taliban (who are subject to UN sanctions for terrorism) have forbidden female students from leaving the Afghan capital to attend universities in Kazakhstan and Qatar.
Male students were the only ones who could fly out of Afghanistan for study purposes, according to the sources on Friday.
In September 2021, the Taliban took control of the interim Afghan government following the withdrawal of US soldiers from the nation and the fall of the US-backed administration.
Afghan women are not permitted to work outside the home, and the Taliban have separated students based on gender in the classrooms. Girls are not permitted to continue their education past the sixth grade.
In addition, the Taliban has made it mandatory for all women to cover their faces in public, and they are not permitted to partake in leisure activities or go to parks at the same time as males.
