Meghalaya Police's role in the state's anti-drug drive represents yet another significant accomplishment. In Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district on Friday, three people were detained and their possession of heroin valued at 14 crore rupees was recovered, according to the police.


Police apprehended the group early in the day while they were taking a bus from Manipur to Shillong after having received a tip, according to district superintendent of police Giri Prasad.

While the bus was being checked on a roadway close to Mandarin-Saiden village, heroin weighing 2 kg was discovered hidden in 158 soap boxes. The three suspects, all citizens of Manipur's Bishnupur area, were named as Rashijuddin, Saddam Hussain, and Iqbal Hussain.
Director General of Police (DGP) L R Bishnoi and the police force were applauded on the seizure by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.

He tweeted, "@RibhoiPolice carefully followed a tip off and apprehended 3 notorious traffickers from Manipur in the wee hours today. They also confiscated 158 boxed high grade Heroin worth 14 Crore originated from Manipur and destined to Shillong. The performance of police officers on the front lines, he continued, "hope this will further ignite, he added.
