17.98 % voter turnout recorded in Himachal Pradesh until 11 am; 105-year-old votes
As of 11 a.m., 17.98% of eligible voters had cast ballots in Himachal Pradesh. On Saturday, voting for 68 Assembly seats began at 8 am and will last until 5 pm in the hill state.

Over the course of the last few elections, the BJP and Congress have held sway in the hill state alternately. The BJP has stated that it is confident in regaining power based on its performance at the centre and in the state as well as its vision for the state, but the Congress is relying on anti-incumbency and some of its election pledges. Aam Adami Party (AAP), a recent entry, is running for all 68 seats in an effort to make a name for itself in the state.

There are 7,881 polling locations set up for the election, according to the Election Commission. While Lahaul-Spiti has the fewest polling places (92), Kangra has the most (1,625). On December 8th, the votes will be tallied.
