One individual was run over by the last three cars of the long convoy of vehicles transporting President Ram Nath Kovind from the helipad at Bokakhat town to Kaziranga National Park in Assam this afternoon in a tragic event.
On the highway in front of JDSG College in Bokakhat town, the automobiles drove over a local citizen of Bokakhat named as Rameshwar Rabidas (60), a resident of the Milanpur neighbourhood near the National Highway, has been identified as the deceased. The individual died on the spot.
Meanwhile, the President’s scheduled jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park’s Bagori Range has been cancelled. The President’s ride was cancelled, but the First Lady, Sabita Kovind, and her daughter Swati Kovind went on a jeep safari, according to the Park Authority.
The case is being investigated, according to a Bokakhat Police official. The body of the deceased has been transported to Golaghat for forensic testing.
