Police in French shot two people who were driving towards them at a speed that intended to hit the police on the duty at Port Neuf. In defense, the police officer acted by open firing on the sped vehicle which is about to hit the officers on the street.
Two of the occupants of the vehicle were killed and a third injured.
The open firing on Sunday leaves two people killed inside their car. A security perimeter had been set up at the scene in the heart of the capital when a judge was expected to arrive. The Paris public prosecutor, Laure Beccuau, arrived around 1:30 am.
Police in Central Paris shot the vehicle that was driving against the flow of traffic on the Pont Neuf when it sped towards the officers, who opened fire, resulting in two people on that vehicle killed inside, on the evening of the French election.
An investigation has been launched for “attempted voluntary manslaughter on a person in charge of public authority”
The incident occurred hours after the French re-election. Where people of French selected President Emmanuel Macron for the second time over Marine Le Pan.
