A fire in a church in the Egyptian city of Giza, near Cairo, killed 41 people and injured 55, citing the health ministry on Sunday, 14 August. The fire started during a mass in Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church of Abu Sifin, where 5,000 people gathered.

A source at the Health Ministry confirmed the number of deaths to news agencies. 37 ambulances have been working to douse the fire on the site of the fire incident at the Church of Martyr Abu Sefin in Imbaba. “41 citizens died” has been confirmed and 12 injured received medical services in hospitals.
