Russian Msta-S 152mm Howitzer, Destroyed By Ukraine’s Mechanized Brigades

Russian artillery units in Kharkiv Oblast were targeted by Ukraine’s 40th Artillery and 92nd Mechanized Brigades. Ukrainian counter-battery fire destroyed a Russian 152mm 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer in the East.

MSTA-S howitzer and boxes with ammunition next to it are shown in the video. Artillery fire is adjusted with a drone. The video shows a Russian howitzer burning after several shots.

The video also reveals the destruction of another howitzer, which was hidden in a forest.

The 152mm 2S19 MSTA-S self-propelled howitzer is designed to defeat artillery and mortar batteries, tanks and other armored vehicles, anti-tank weapons, manpower, air defense, and anti-aircraft weapons, control points, as well as for the destruction of field fortifications.

To help the gun crew activate the weapon, each of the box section trails has a caster wheel. These swing upward 180 degrees and come to rest on top of each trail when they are deployed in the firing position. The 152 mm ordnance has a liquid-cooled recoil brake, a hydraulic counter-recoil device, a spring-operated ramming system, and a muzzle brake. It also has a semi-automatic breech mechanism.
