Assam’s Dhubri is closest by, and the incident reportedly happened there. A passenger-carrying boat capsized on the river after losing control in the fast currents.

Including a circle cop, as many as six persons are currently missing. A team from the state disaster reaction force (SDRF) descended on the area as soon as the catastrophe occurred. In the interim, rescue efforts have begun, and the SDRF crew has already saved two people.

The circle officer was traveling with a group of government workers to a site check, according to reports, when the boat overturned.

Search and rescue efforts are ongoing in Assam where 6-7 people remain missing. Also still missing from the incident is the Dhubri Circle Officer. When the boat capsized, there were initially reported to be between 29 and 30 passengers: Deputy Commissioner of Dhubri, Anbamuthan, MP
