Assam: Fire destroyed properties worth crores during Diwali Celebration in Rangia
A fire in Rangia town, Assam’s Kamrup (Rural) district, burnt several houses and business establishments, destroying property worth crores of rupees, according to an official.
He stated that no one was injured in the fire that occurred on Thursday night.
On Thursday night, amid Diwali festivities, a fire broke out near Mrittunjay Shiv Temple in the town, devouring multiple houses, shops, and godowns.
After more than two hours, eight fire tenders were able to extinguish the fire with the help of locals, according to the official.
Property worth crores of rupees were destroyed, he claimed, however, the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
The fire started early in the morning and primarily affected the area around Kalimandir Path in the Railway colony.
