In the midst of the dispute, Assam Police permits vehicles hauling goods to enter Meghalaya. Following tension between the two states after the Mukroh firing that left six people dead, Assam police for the first time let goods-laden trucks to enter Meghalaya.

Only automobiles having a Meghalaya registration number, however, are permitted to enter the state. The police continue to block entry to any vehicles other than those with a Meghalaya registration number, according to Mustafa Ahmed, Vice President of the All India Road Transport Workers Federation, Assam Unit.

Anti-Assam feelings were stirred up among Shillong protesters when an SUV with an Assam registration number was set ablaze, following the unrest in Mukroh village where six people were killed by police shooting.

As a symbol of respect for the deceased soul, several pressure groups organised a candlelight vigil on November 24 in the evening. At that time, violence was also reportedly recorded. The Shillong Civil Hospital was the scene of riots in which rioters attacked police cars, female police officers, and public property.

In the meantime, on November 24, the Assam Mazdoor Union halted the supply of LPG, petroleum, and diesel to the three districts of Meghalaya, Ri-bhoi, Jaintia Hills, and Khasi Hills, which worried the people of affected regions. Long queues of customers could be spotted at petrol stations waiting to refuel their vehicles.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya's Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, reaffirmed that there is no shortage of gasoline or diesel in the state. The government has taken the necessary steps to guarantee that there will be enough supplies and stocks. "We kindly ask all residents not to buy any necessities in a panic", he stated.
