Assam Rifles soldiers in Mizoram retrieve weapons from Siaha
The Mizoram Siaha police station has received the detained people and the confiscated goods in the meantime for further investigation and legal processes.
In Mizoram, Assam Rifles soldiers have found a sizable cache of tactical and military supplies.
The Assam Rifles soldiers recovered the tactical and military supplies from close to Tuipang village in Mizoram's Siaha district.
Additionally, four people have been detained in relation to the recovery.
A composite team of Assam Rifles soldiers and Mizoram's Siaha district police officers conducted the operation.
The materials that were found were intended for rebels located in Myanmar.
The Assam Rifles released a statement saying, "The squad has detailed information concerning transit of tactical and warlike items for militants located in Myanmar."
The squad stopped and searched one kenbo bike and one yodha in Tuipang village, it continued. The search team found a significant amount of tactical and military supplies.
The recovered things were of a military calibre.
The Assam Rifles stated that it was possible that militants stationed in Myanmar would use the same (recovered equipment) against their own people.
"This recovery has saved the probable loss of priceless lives," it continued.
