On the occasion of Indira Gandhi's death anniversary, the Congress pays tribute to her

On the occasion of her passing, the Congress paid tribute to the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi said he was keeping her love and principles in his heart and would not let the India she gave her life for fall apart. At the Shakti Sthal monument for Indira Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Party Chief Sonia Gandhi, and other top party figures presented floral tributes to the late Prime Minister.

"On the anniversary of her martyrdom, I pay my respects to Indira Gandhi, the country's first female prime minister. Indira Ji's contribution to building India a powerful nation, whether in terms of agriculture, the economy, or military might, is unparalleled "Kharge stated in a Hindi tweet. At the AICC headquarters, Kharge also presented floral tributes to Indira Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi posted a tweet in Hindi that read, "Grandmother, I keep your love and your principles in my heart. You gave your life to save India, and I won't let that India fall apart."

The Congress said in a tweet from its official Twitter account that Indira Gandhi guided the country through its highs and lows, from the liberation of Bangladesh to the start of the Green Revolution. The party praised her "unyielding resilience" and "unwavering ambition for the prosperity of the nation." On this day in 1984, two of the then-prime leader Indira Gandhi's personal security guards killed her.
