Assam: Scooty for Karbi Anglong Students Securing 1st Division in Class XII examinations

Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of the poll-bound Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) said on Wednesday that he would offer a scooty to any student, boy or girl, who passed the Class XII examinations with a first division (60 percent marks or above). Previously, only successful female candidates were given scooties.

However, the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC)  elections will take place on June 8.

Boys from all over the state have been clamoring to be included in the program for a long time, and the CM’s announcement came as a nice surprise. According to education department sources, kids from other districts may be included soon.

“If someone obtains first division in higher secondary, will get scooty. At a campaign gathering in Kheroni playground in Karbi Anglong, Himanta declared, “Both girls and boys shall get scooty.”

The CM kept making pledges in response to student demands during marathon meetings conducted in four locations on Wednesday. He offered a government college in Kheroni with various streams for those interested in pursuing higher education.
