Assam to ban unvaccinated from entry to public places starting tomorrow

Assam’s chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced on Saturday that anyone who has not been completely vaccinated against the coronavirus illness (Covid-19) will be barred from entering public venues such as hotels, courts, and marketplaces starting tomorrow, January 16. Speaking to reporters about the current pandemic crisis, Sarma said that while the state is not currently in need of a Covid-19-induced lockdown, all necessary precautions, including the wearing of masks, must be followed.

The Assam chief minister stated, “Those who are not properly vaccinated would not be permitted to access public areas like district courts, hotels, markets, and so on starting tomorrow.” “Assam is not currently under lockdown, however wearing a mask is required.”
