A Serbian tennis star, Novak Djokovic, has had his visa to Australia revoked for his stance on the Covid-19 vaccine. Worlds no. 1 did not comply with vaccination rules and his visa was canceled.
Sydney Morning Herald reports that Djokovic spent eight hours in detention at Melbourne Airport, where he unsuccessfully pleaded his case to border officials. Australian Border Force stated that he lacked the proper documents and therefore could be asked to leave the country.
– The visa of Mr. Djokovic has been revoked. Rules are rules, especially when it comes to our borders. No one is above the rules. Our strong border policies have helped make Australia one of the nations with one of the lowest death rates from COVID. We will continue to be vigilant.” Australian PM Scott Morrison tweeted.
