Religious extremists stormed the Durga Puja Pandal in Bangladesh’s Nanua Dighir region, vandalising the pandal’s deity idols, killing five people, and injuring several others. After rumors of disrespecting the Quran arose, the attack was carried out.
Later on Friday the ISKCON Temple was attacked by a mob of around 200 people in which one devotee lost his life.
‘Some anti-Hindu Muslim extremists secretly placed the Quran on the foot of Hanuman statue at Durga puja pandal in Comilla, Bangladesh,’ stated Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasrin in a tweet about the incident. It’s only a pretext to target Hindus in the name of religious sensitivity. I’m hoping that the government would intervene to rescue the minority group.’ The author added.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Hindu Unity Council has warned that all Hindus in the country must stay vigilant. We’ve made contact with the police to ensure the Hindus’ safety. The Hindus in Bangladesh labelled October 13 as a ‘Black Day’.
Hindus should stop living their lives in such a false expectation because Islamic governments would never defend Hindus. There will be an attempt to show that they are doing something, but there will be no protection. If this were the case, the killing of Hindus in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and other nations would have come to an end, and their numbers would have increased.
However, Religious extremists had previously protested the installation and worship of a Shri Durgadevi idol in a Hindu temple on Tipu Sultan Marg in Dhaka, Bangladesh’s capital. As a result, the Hindus in the area were forced to relocate Shri Durgadevi’s idol to land provided by the government to offer prayers.
